Situated under Salisbury Plain the village of Heywood lies to the west of the A350 between Westbury and Trowbridge. There is a rail station, with taxi service, at Westbury and bus stops at each end of the village, some buses come along Church Road.
Westbury (1.5 miles) has many facilities including; indoor swimming pool, leisure centre, snooker club, a variety of public houses and a night club as well as a good range of local shops.
There is a 24-hour shop at Yarnbrook (1 mile) and a public telephone at the property entrance.
Local establishments provide excellent food and drink daytime and evening - eat in or take-away.
